Selbykanaal |

het 19 km lange kanaal loopt vanuit
Knottingsley (Bank Dole Junction) naar Selby (Selby Junction) en verbindt
de hoofdlijn (Main Line) van de Aire
and Calder Navigation met de rivier Ouse.
Het zogenoemde broad canal met totaal vier sluizen loopt van
Knottingsley tot Haddesley door het bed van de door twee stuwen gekanaliseerde
rivier Aire. Het is bevaarbaar voor
vaartuigen tot een lengte van 23,9 m en een breedte van 5,03 m en wordt
beheerd door Norther Waterways, Leeds. |

Selby-Kanal |
1775 bis 1778 gebauter, 19 km langer Kanal der
Aire and Calder Navigation,
der bei Knottingsley (Bank Dole Junction) vom Hauptstrang der A&C-Fahrt
(Aire and Calder Navigation Main Line) nach Nordosten abzweigt
und in Selby (Selby Junction) in den Fluß Ouse
mündet. Der Wasserweg mit insgesamt vier Schleusen verläuft von Knottingsley
bis Haddesley im Bett der durch zwei Staustufen kanalisierten Aire.
Der broad canal ist für Fahrzeuge bis 23,9m x 5,03m schiffbar.
Die Verwaltung des Kanals obliegt der Northern Waterways, Leeds. |

of the Aire and Calder Navigation.
Of the 11.8 miles through 4 locks from Bank Dole Junction near Knottingsley
(where it joins the Aire and Calder Main Line) to Selby Junction (where
it joins the River Ouse - Yorkshire)
the Knottingsley-Haddesley section follows the run of the River
Aire. The maximum dimensions for a boat to be able to travel
on the waterway under the authority of Nothern Waterways, Leeds, are 78
feet and 6 inches long and 16 feet and 6 inches wide. |
