Gezeitenfluß in Lancashire, im Nordwesten
Englands, auch unter dem Namen As(t)land bekannt, der in den West Pennine
Moors entspringt. Der linke Nebenfluß des Ribble,
in den er nach 56 km mündet, ist von Tarleton Junction, wo er an
den Leeds and Liverpool Canal,
Rufford Branch, anschließt, bis zur Mündung bei Douglas
Mouth über rd. 6,5 km für Fahrzeuge bis 21,95m x 4,25m schiffbar. |

tidal river in Lancashire, also known as
River Asland or Astland. The left tributary rises in the
West Pennine Moors to flow into the River Ribble
at Douglas Mouth after 35 miles. It is navigable over 4 miles for boats
with max. dimension of 72ft x 14ft from Tarleton Junction, where it joins
the Rufford Branch of
the Leeds and Liverpool Canal. |
