	Californische Stroom		zeestroming in de noordelijke Stille Oceaan, die langs de Noord-Amerikaanse kust naar het zuidoosten trekt, vanaf een punt voor Vancouver Island tot aan Baja California, waar zij steeds breder wordt en via een boog naar het zuid, zuidwesten in de naar het westen stromende pacifische Noord-Equatoriaal Stroom overgaat. De Californische Stroom, die licht beïnvloed wordt door de wind, is de zuidelijke arm van de Aleoeten Stroom, die versterkt wordt door de Noordpacifische Stroom en het oostelijke deel vormt van de met de klok mee circulerende stromingen in de noordelijke Stille Oceaan.
	Kalifornienstrom		Meeresströmung im Nordpazifik, die entlang der nordamerikanischen Küste südostwärts zieht, von einem Punkt vor Vancouver Island bis hinunter zur Baja California, wo sie stetig an Breite zunimmt und in einem Bogen süd- und südwestwärts in den nach Westen fließenden Pazifischen Nordäquatorstrom übergeht. Der Kalifornienstrom, der leicht vom Wind beeinflußt wird, ist der südliche Zweig des Aleutenstroms, der durch den Nordpazifikstrom verstärkt wird und den östlichen Teil der im Uhrzeigersinn zirkulierenden Nordpazifikströmungen bildet.
	California Current		a North Pacific Ocean current flowing southeastward along the west coast of North America from a point west of Vancouver Island to the west of Baja California where it gradually widens and curves southward and southwestward, to continue as the westerly flowing Pacific North Equatorial Current. The California Current is the southern branch of the Aleutian Current, augmented by the North Pacific Current, and forms the eastern part of the general clockwise oceanic circulation of the North Pacific Ocean. Although usually described as a permanent ocean current, the California Current is actually a poorly defined and variable flow easily influenced by the winds.
