Irimingerstroom |

stroming in de Noord-Atlantische
oceaan, een van de uitlopende armen van het Golfstroomsysteem (deel van
de noordelijke arm van de Noord-Atlantische Stroom). De stroom beweegt
zich in westelijke richting voor de zuidwestkust van Ijsland. Een klein
gedeelte draait daarbij om de westkust van Ijsland, en het grootste deel
gaat naar het zuiden, waar hij opgaat in de Oost-Groenlandstroom. |

Irmingerstrom |
Meeresströmung im Nordatlantik, der
einen der auslaufenden Arme des Golfstrom-Systems (Teil des Nordarms des
Nordatlantikstroms) darstellt. Der Strom fließt westwärts vor der Südwestküste
Islands. Während ein kleiner Teil seines Wassers um die isländische Westküste
herumzieht, dreht der größere Teil nach Süden, wo er sich mit dem Ostgrönlandstrom
verbindet. |

Irminger Current |
a North Atlantic Ocean current, one
of the terminal branches of the Gulf Stream System (part of the northern
branch of the North Atlantic Current); it flows toward the west off the
southwest coast of Iceland. A small portion of the water of the Irminger
Current bends around the west coast of Iceland but the greater amount
turns south and becomes more or less mixed with the water of the East
