Die relativ geringe Wassertiefe zwischen 45 und 80m wirkt zudem dem Austausch von Süß- und Salzwasser entgegen.
	Gulf of Thailand Gulf of Siam		a gulf that is accessed via the South China Sea, surrounded by the coasts of Cambodia, Thailand and Vietnam. In the north it reaches out into the Bay of Bangkok at the mouth of the Chao Phraya River. The boundary of the gulf is defined by the line from Cape Bai Bung in southern Vietnam (just south of the mouth of the Mekong river) to the city Kota Baru on the Malayian coast. The shallow water (45-80m) is rich in sediments carried by the rivers which flow into the gulf. Its salinity is relatively low due to the fresh water influx and the slow exchange of sweet and salt water.
