diepe asymmetrische gesneden spinnakers. Gewijzigde voorschriften bij
regatta's, maar ook andere gunstigere zeilvormen en verbeteringen aan
de romp hebben er toe geleid dat de blooper nauwelijks nog wordt gevoerd. |

schmalen, aber tiefen asymmetrischen Spinnakern. Geänderte Regattaregeln,
aber auch günstigere Segelformen und Verbesserungen des Rumpfs haben

blooper | an auxiliary triangular sail that
used to be employed while sailing downwind in conjunction with spinnakers.
Bloopers are cut like narrow but deep versions of the asymmetrical spinnakers.
However, they were almost always smaller and used secondarily to spinnakers,
and usually employed only if the course was almost dead downwind. Bloopers have essentially been outlawed by changes in the rules that govern sailboat racing, and they've effectively been made obsolete due to improved sail cuts and hull forms on contemporary boats. > big boy |
